Bimeda & The Annual NRCA Food Distribution Bigger & Better Than Ever

At Bimeda Kenya, our local communities are very important to us and we are involved in some great local causes.

The Ngong Road Children Association (NRCA), in particular, has been close to our hearts for many years and we are proudly involved with initiatives such as sponsorship and mentoring. Based in Nairobi, the NRCA is dedicated to helping underprivileged children affected in some way by HIV/Aids, to transform their lives through education.

In addition to its education focus, each year the NRCA organises a food distribution day, which is supported by the Bimeda Kenya team. During the food drive, 380 families receive staple dry foods, chicken, juice, fresh mangoes and fresh vegetables.

At the most recent event, Bimeda's impact was even greater than before, as the team worked hard to bring three additional food companies on board; meaning a greater variety and quantity of food was provided than in previous years.

The logistics of organising such an event can be complicated, but the Bimeda Kenya team were happy to be involved with every aspect of the day, from collecting and delivering the donations, to helping with the distribution of food on the day. Some employees even brought along other family members, who were pleased to be able to contribute their time to such a great cause.
